Those who feel they are stuck in a rut and always get the same negative results in everything they pursue are often suffering from a negative paradigm. If you find your world seems more negative than positive, use these 8 ways on how to change your outlook on life to stop the negative and embrace the positive.
8 Ways On How To Change Your Outlook On Life
1) Positive Thoughts Create a Positive Outlook on Life:
As James Allen stated in “As a Man Thinketh”, “Men do not attract what they want, but what they are.”
As you ponder this statement a moment, think about how truly profound it is. Your thoughts are not just random bubble statements that float listlessly through the air. Your thoughts become who you are.
People who lead negative lives are not having random negative experiences. They are actually attracting these experiences because of their thoughts which become their beliefs. If you don’t believe this truth, think about this:
* Why is it you always meet the same type of guy/girl and get the same result?
* Why do you always seem to fail at dieting no matter which method of weight loss you choose?
* Why do you seem to choose the same types of friends over and over?
Are you finding negative patterns in your life that make you sometimes feel like you are living through the movie “Ground Hog Day”?
Changing the direction of your thoughts can completely change your outlook. When your outlook on life changes, the world is no longer a gloomy place meant to bring you pain. Instead, it becomes your launching board to experience life to the fullest.
2) Mirror the Positives You See in Others:
Successful people are not born being successful. They become successful. The way many people become successful is by mentoring under those who have walked before them. They study under successful giants in their industry and mimic what these people do.
It may seem overly simple, but mirroring is actually a powerful and beneficial way to becoming what you want to become. If your friend Joe seems to have the Midas touch, why not begin to study exactly what Joe is doing. What are his daily habits? What does he talk about?
Mirroring does not mean you are trying to become another person. It simply means you are seeking to be successful by using the same methods that have already brought success to another.
If your life outlook seems bleak and you find yourself replaying the same scenarios over and over and getting the same negative results, begin to mirror the successful habits, speech and mannerisms of those with positive, meaningful and successful lives and you will soon see your own life began to change.
3) Affirmations Should Speak to Your New Outlook on Life:
Everything we know the universe to be revolves around the thoughts we think and the words we speak.
It is not enough to merely change your thoughts, you must also affirm your thoughts with the words you speak. Speaking words of happiness, joy and success will overhaul your outlook and change the very essence of your life.
An affirmation is a short, yet powerful statement that is said with feeling. These statements become your conscious thoughts which then become your beliefs through your subconscious mind. In other words, you say what you want to see your life become.
Try these powerful affirmations and consider creating your own:
* “I am happy, healthy and successful!”
* “I am successful in all I do!”
* “I make friends easily!”
* “My body is healthy and energized!”
* “My mind is focused and sharp!”
If you will notice, when choosing an affirmation, you will always choose a definitive statement. If you were to say, “I can make friends easily!” instead of “I make friends easily!” your mind has room to interpret this saying.
When speaking affirmations, we want no room for interpretation. The statement is simply what it says and nothing more or nothing less.
4) Stop and Smell The Roses:
The world around you is one of beauty in exquisite detail. Unfortunately, most people do not take the time to appreciate it.
People are so busy in their everyday lives, pushing to get this done and that accomplished…Somehow we stop admiring the beauty of the Earth and separate ourselves from it every chance we get.
How often do you go outdoors and take a walk among nature? Have you ever just sat on the ground and closed your eyes while listening to the birds, insects and other sounds of nature? If it has been a long time since you became one with nature, it is time to embrace it again.
Make it your purpose to take a nature walk at least once a week. As you are walking, take the time to look at the neighbor’s roses or the beautiful tree in the park.
Breathe deeply and inhale the sweet smell of nature. When you begin to seek out the beauty in the world, the world suddenly becomes beautiful to you.
5) List Your Blessings and Deeply Appreciate Them:
Often, we are so focused on the finish line we cannot seem to appreciate the journey to get there. Most people find themselves overlooking the blessings in their life and focusing more on what they don’t have.
Have you ever stopped to focus on the many blessings in your life? When you truly think on these and feel deep appreciation, your outlook on life immediately begins to improve.
Focus on the blessing of your home, family, health, job, car….it may be helpful to list them all. When you list your blessings, you have no choice but to place your full focus on them (at least while you are listing them).
If you can find five to ten minutes in your day to focus on your blessings or on the good that happened that day, you will begin to see the entire world around you in a completely new light. An attitude of gratitude can change your life in ways you never dreamed of.
6) Make It a Mission to Smile at Everyone:
There is something about a smile that changes our perception. In fact, scientists have found smiling creates changes in your brain that make it think you are happy even if your smile is completely fake. Smiling not only has an impact on you, it also has a significant impact on the world around you.
When you make it your purpose to smile at everyone you see, there is not going to be any room for you to feel negative. I can promise you this! If you don’t believe me, try it for yourself. In fact, I challenge you to one week of smile therapy. I can guarantee it will begin to change the way you see yourself, others and the world around you.
7) Meditation is the Gateway to a Positive Life Outlook:
When making changes in your life seems difficult, stepping back to the basics of meditation is the key. Often, we start off with meditation and then we are on to the next big thing everyone else is doing to change their paradigm.
The truth is, the foundations of change begin with mediation. If you are not meditating, I urge you to start right away.
During your meditation session, I want you to fully focus on your perfect world. If you had the opportunity to design a utopian world, what would it look like? Focus with deep concentration until you have this image in your mind.
This little world is your world. Once you begin to fully focus on your world during meditation, you will begin to subconsciously see the “real world” conforming to your world. Take fifteen minutes a day and focus on the beautiful world you have created. If you find yourself having trouble seeing it clearly enough, draw it in full detail.
8) You Will Never Get a Positive From a Negative:
Are you a complainer? It’s okay to be honest…nobody is going to know your answer. If you are not sure whether or not you complain too much, ask your spouse, your friends, and family. I can guarantee they will be quick to answer yes if you do!
You see, most of us do not realize how much we complain. We complain about the weather, the traffic, our jobs….some people seem to complain about everything. Being around this type of person is miserable!
If you are constantly complaining, you are putting an endless stream of negativities out into the universe. I can guarantee you will not receive a positive while constantly spewing negatives!
Complaining is a bad habit, but like any other habit, it can be broken. If you truly want to change your outlook of the world, stop complaining about it. Make a concerted effort to stop complaining and start thinking on the positives of each day and you will feel like a different person!
Conclusion:
Changing your outlook on your life will not happen overnight but I can guarantee you it will! If you make it your focus to change your outlook, you will quickly begin seeing amazing changes occurring.
Don’t be afraid to try these methods and even think of your own. If you do try them, please drop a line in the comment box and let me know the changes you are seeing taking place.
As always, I send you blessings and encourage you to love yourself and love others!! This is the foundation of changing your very world! Check out some of my other great articles to help you find happiness. Click Here
hi Alex
This is a great post. Those 8 ways, I can attest work. I work with a lot of individuals who have the mindset that the whole world is against them, that no one is there to help them. And that comes with the lifestyle they have. So when I see them as a mental health professional who cares, then it takes a looong time for them to trust that I simply care and am there to help without any ulterior motive. And the complaining about every single thing….There was a time in my life when I felt the world was against me. But with spirituality, and doing exactly what you describe here (list of the positive, smiling at everyone, although I have always done that), I have found so much peace. I know I have the profession I have for a reason. I did not choose it, it chose me. And in order to be able to do it, I have to take care of my health, physical, spiritual, mental and emotional. And this is a start for sure
Emily that is AMAZING. I hope you continue to kill it doing that. I can tell you are very passionate about it. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this. Wishing you peace and prosperity always.

AJ,
This website kind of hit home for what i’m going through in life right now. I’ve just discovered meditation over the past year and has been doing wonders for me. This article (mainly 1 and 2) in itself are principles that I am trying to push on my mother right now who is having serious health issues. She was always the most positive person and saw great in others even when nobody else did. Now she is down on herself all the time. She picks stuff out about each nurse that she doesn’t like and is really going through a rough time. I will look through your products and whole site to see what i can do as her support system change her views back to the way they were. Thanks again
Wow, that is quit a lot. I hope that things get better for her. It really is all about the mind set. We just need to be able to reprogram it which only takes about 30 to 90 days. I hope my site will help her and you greatly. I talk a lot about reprogramming the subconscious mind in the success menu. Feel free to read everything. If you have any question let me know and I will give you a hand. God bless you 🙂

This is a very interesting article. I am a natural “worrier” so I find it somewhat difficult to apply these ideas tbh. But, I guess, one needs to get into the habit of it all! I am definitely going to incorporate the affirmations into my routine though. Thanks for sharing!
You bet George. Affirmations really do make a huge difference in your every day life. Stick with it for 30 days saying them as much as you can throughout the day and watch what happens.
